What are Rudraksha Beads ?
Rudraksha beads are the seeds of the Rudraksha fruit from Rudraksha trees. The Biological name of Rudraksha is Elaeocarpus Ganitrus
Roxb. Rudraksha trees are found mainly in South Eastern Asia. Most of Rudraksha trees are found in Indonesia, Nepal and India. There are clefts on the surface of the beads and they are called faces. The faced are clearly visible in the South Asian (India & Nepal) Beads and they are larger. South East Asian (Indonesian) beads are Smaller in Sized and Their faced are not clearly visible. Smaller or Bigger they are powerful in their own way. 5 Faced Rudraksh are very common and easily available. Apart from 5 Faced Rudraksha Beads there are available from 1 Face to 38 Faced Beads. From 15 Faced to 21 Faced are available though not commonly. From 22 to 38 Faced are rare. Other Rudraksha beads from 1 faced to
14 faced have specific powers and have certain specific use.

To test the authenticity of the Rudraksha beads, sink the beads in water. The one
which sinks in water is original
and the one that floats is duplicate are not right. Even the ones made of wood with some lead impregnated in it can sink comfortably in water. The best way is to procure from reliable source.
Many get confused with the shape and size. One should not seriously worry about it. Just see that the faced is well defined, corns and contours are natural, there are no cracks near the central hole and the bead has a good health. Smaller size is also considered to be very auspicious.

Each faced beads have its own specific power and properties. So one can
wear
according to the needs or desires to be
fulfilled. One can wear the combination of all the beads. The individual powers of the beads can be felt simultaneously. One can also wear a pendant of any specific faced of beads. Either more number of a particular faced of beads or a mix of different faced of beads can be worn. Many astrologers have also worked on Rudraksha. They suggest 'Faced' based on Birth Chart/ Horoscope.
